In January of 2012, the Cinco Ranch Church unveiled
“I Do”, a five year vision for our future as a body of Christ followers. As the name suggests, it focuses on the covenant we have with God and our personal willingness to make a vow of commitment to Him. In our desire to Love God, Love Others, and Reach the World we recognize that serious and intentional lifestyle choices must be made. We call this the Covenant Lifestyle. While it’s great to set goals of becoming more Christ like and it’s easy to say, “We want to be people devoted to God’s word,” or “We want to be a people of prayer,” the question becomes “How are we going to get there?”
To help us fully engage in the Covenant Lifestyle, we put together a curriculum plan called the Fine Print. It is unlike anything we have ever tried before at CRCOC. It will weave together what we hear preached on Sunday mornings, what we study and discuss in Life Groups, special events, media, and how we interact through the web. The Fine Print is one way to encourage believers at Cinco to live out the vision of “I Do” and embrace a Covenant Lifestyle. It is a hands-on, practical, where the rubber meets the road kind of way to put our vision into practice and become not only hearers of God’s word but doers of God’s word.
Each month in 2012 will have a theme. The themes, outlined below and described in more detail in our vision, were designed to develop one of the marks of maturity described in the Covenant Lifestyle section of our vision. We invite you to be a part of what is happening at Cinco in 2012! Don’t miss a Sunday. Share our vision. Get in a Life Group. So while the phrase, “read the fine print” can sometimes have negative connotations, it is not true in this case. When we say the Fine Print, we mean that you are about to participate in something “Fine!”, something you’ll savor, enjoy, and cherish. So be sure to check back frequently. Because you’ll want to be sure to read the Fine Print!
