Greg Barnhill
Greg was born on a small farm in Kirksville, MO. His family eventually moved to Houston in 1966. After high school he attended the University of Houston to pursue a degree in Political Science. He works in the insurance business as an Executive General Adjuster for Crawford Global Technical Services, conducting commercial claims following flood or fire damage. Greg is a cancer survivor of Uveal Melanoma and Epitheliod Mesothelioma. In 2011 he passed his 10 year survivor birthday. He is a pastoral care chaplain for Lifeline Chaplaincy at St. Luke’s Hospital and a volunteer for CanCare, a Christian based cancer support organization.
Greg and his wife Sue have been married for 37 years and have lived in Katy since 1984. Sue is retired and enjoys needlepoint, traveling and baking. They are pet lovers and have three dogs and a cat. Greg enjoys soccer, golf, fishing, traveling and telling jokes. The Barnhill’s have two grown children. Greg Jr. is general manager of an Italian restaurant in Houston. Ashley is finishing her degree in special needs education in San Antonio, TX.
Greg is active in the Men’s Ministry and is involved in campus expansion work. He loves teaching in the Youth Ministry and frequently serves at youth retreats and on youth mission trips. Greg became a shepherd in 2006 and serves as the resource shepherd for the Prayer Ministry, the Basket Ministry, the Marriage Ministry, and the Widows Ministry.
Mike Bednarz
Mike grew up in a Catholic family on a cotton farm in West Texas, near Wilson, south of Lubbock. He is one of 12 kids. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1979 with a degree in engineering.
While at Tech, Mike met his future wife, Nell. They were married on Oct 2, 1982. Following several months of Bible study, he was baptized into Christ in November 1982. Mike and his family lived overseas from April 1988 thru Jan 1999 in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Australia, and Venezuela. He and his family moved to Katy in 1999 and joined the then Westside Church of Christ. Mike and Nell have two grown children. Megan graduated from Texas A&M with a master’s degree and is employed in Houston. Rachel is married and graduated in December 2011 with a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M.
While at Cinco, Mike has been involved in the Finance Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Missions Ministry, Men’s Bible Study, and has helped teach bible classes on Sunday morning. Mike became a shepherd in November of 2010 and currently serves as the resource shepherd for the Financial Peace Ministry and the Men’s Ministry.
Steve Bennett
Steve grew up in Fort Worth Texas. He graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1981 with a degree in business management and a degree in marketing. That same year he began working for Amoco Production Company in Levelland Texas. In 1983 his family moved back to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where Steve worked for a manufacturer’s representative organization for industrial safety products, which he now owns.
In 1975 he met his wife Tamera at Midtown Church of Christ. They were married in 1981 after he graduated from ACU. Their son Brent was born in 1989. In 1993 they moved to Houston and soon began attending Westside Church of Christ (now Cinco Ranch Church of Christ). Steve enjoys using his gifts to encourage and be hospitable to others, spread the good news of Christ and increase Gods Kingdom in the Katy/Richmond area.
While a member at Cinco Ranch Steve served as the Audio Visual Ministry Team Leader. In 2008 he became a shepherd. He currently serves as the resource shepherd for the Audio/Visual Ministry, the Website Ministry and the Publicity Ministry.
Kenny Elder
Kenny was born and raised in Beeville, Texas and was baptized at the Beeville Church of Christ in 1969. He graduated from Texas A&M University in May 1979. Kenny has worked for various companies in the energy industry since 1979, taking early retirement from BP, after almost 20 years, in 2008. He currently works for Noble Energy as a Procurement Advisor supporting drilling and completion operations in the Eastern Mediterranean, offshore Israel and Cyprus.
Kenny married his wife Beth in September of 1979. They have three grown children, Russell, Phillip and Sara. The Elders have attended Cinco Ranch Church of Christ since July 1999. The entire Elder family has participated in youth mission trips to Mexico, Honduras and New Orleans since 2000. Kenny also sings tenor with the praise team. His hobbies include hunting, golf and attending Aggie athletic events with Beth.
Kenny has served as a shepherd since 2004. Prior to that, he served as the Ministry Team Leader for youth from 2001-2004. He currently serves as the resource shepherd for the Little Ranch Pre-School, the Cinco Kids Ministry and the College and Young Professionals Ministry.
Randy Herzog
Randy grew up in rural Kansas and started his Christian walk in the Methodist Church. Randy has worked in the Information Technology Industry for over 30 years and is currently with KnowledgeBase Marketing, managing IT technicians. Randy holds university degrees in Professional Counseling and Computer Science.
Randy met his wife Cindy while they were co-workers at a local truck stop in the small town where they both grew up. They were married in 1979 and after Randy was baptized in 1980, they placed membership with the Pittsburg Church of Christ in Pittsburg, Kansas. They have two grown children, a daughter-in-law, and three grandsons. The Herzog’s have lived in Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and currently Richmond. Cindy is a devoted wife and mother and now provides support for her aging parents.
The Herzog’s have a heart for marriages and continue to provide mentoring for troubled marriages. Randy has served as a shepherd since November of 2010 and servers as the resource shepherd for the Worship Assignment and Worship Planning Ministries, the Interior Design Ministry, the Transportation Ministry and the Communion Preparation Ministry.
Richard Loveland
Richard and his family joined CRCOC in October of 2006 when they moved to Katy after living overseas for nearly 10 years. Richard is a Petroleum Engineer by degree (from Louisiana State University) and has worked in the industry over 25 years.
Prior to moving abroad, Richard lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 10 years where he met his wife Nancy while attending the Anchorage Church of Christ. While out of the U.S., they worshipped with Christians from many different walks of life and even hosted a home church for several years. These experiences provided a special time of spiritual growth for their family. They have been married for 21 years and have two children, Cara and Travis. The Lovelands all enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, and watching movies together.
Richard and Nancy thoroughly enjoy serving with the Youth Ministry, Missions Ministry, and the Greeting Ministry, as well as teaching classes. Richard became a shepherd in November of 2010 and serves as the resource shepherd for the Missions Ministry, the Women’s Ministry, and the Youth Ministry.
Larry Neahusan
Larry was born and raised in Midland, Texas and became a Christian in 1965. He attended college at Southwestern University and was a teacher and a coach for Spring Branch ISD for three years. Currently, Larry is a salesperson in the telecommunications industry and is employed by Mitel Technologies.
He met his wife Fran while in college. After graduating in 1974, he married Fran in June of the same year. The Neahusan’s began visiting Cinco Ranch in 2001 and placed membership in December of the same year. Larry and Fran have one grown daughter, Kelly, who lives and works in New York City.
Larry and Fran have been involved in Life Groups and the Greeting Ministry. Larry is active in the Men’s Ministry and Fran is active with the Women’s Ministry. Larry has served as a shepherd since May of 2006 and is the resource shepherd for the Fellowship Ministry, the New Member Involvement Ministry, and the Greeting Ministry.
Joe Shea
Joe was raised in a Catholic family and later put on Christ in baptism in 1987. Joe has been a Rotating Equipment Engineer with Shell for over 31 years.
Joe and Cathy have been members of CRCOC since 2000. Joe and Cathy were married in 1984 and have lived in MD, WV, OH, IL, LA, and TX. Their 24 year old son, Michael, graduated in 2009 and now works in Austin, TX.
Joe enjoys meeting new families in the Welcome Class that he regularly co-leads. He goes on to say, “It has been very exciting to see this congregation grow and become more outward-serving over the years.” After serving as a Ministry Team Leader and Life Group leader, Joe has served as a shepherd since 2006. He currently serves as the resource shepherd of the Landscape Ministry and the Facilities Management Ministry.
Louis Warren
Louis and his family came to CRCOC in 1995 from Ft. Worth when he took a job as controller of an oil & gas services company. He earned a degree in accounting from Abilene Christian University.
Louis met his wife Becky while living and working in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area. Becky has a love for worship and serves on the Praise Team and has also served on the Missions Ministry team. Her passion for mission work comes from growing up in a missionary family in Costa Rica. Louis and Becky have participated in several mission trips with the youth group. Becky has developed and led Vacation Bible School on several trips to Honduras. Each year they also try to attend Stream in the Desert, a weekend worship retreat. Louis enjoys playing tennis and Becky enjoys cross-stitching. They both enjoy attending musicals. Louis and Becky have been married 25 years and have two sons, Daniel and Travis.
Louis has served as a shepherd since November of 2010 and has served on several ministry teams including finance, worship, audio/visual, missions and youth. He also led singing in the early days of the congregation. He is the resource shepherd for the Finance Ministry, the Youth Ministry, and the Adult Education Ministry.
