The Estes/Schrum "Empty Nesters" Care Group meets Sunday evenings at 5:30 PM. It normally meets in the home of Barbara and John Estes, 23107 Red River, Katy, Tx 77450. Their telephone number is 281-395-3348. The group meets every Sunday during the fall, winter and spring. It meets periodically during the summer. Meetings are normally suspended on family holiday weekends and for events, like the Fiesta Dinner and Auction and VBS, that are held at the building. If the Barbara and John are away, the group will meet in other members' homes.

We visit. We eat. We sing. We study. AND WE PRAY.

We visit. John and Pat (and Barbara and Patraicia) our group leaders see to it that time is provided to visit just about "things." It is during these visits that we have gotten to know and love one another.

We eat. Boy, do we eat! Sometimes it's just a snack, other times more substantial. Lately it has been salads and always DESSERTS. Look at the Little Ranch Pre-School Cook Book and see how many recipes were contributed by our chefs. They actually cook, eat and serve what they write about.

We sing. Pat Schrum leads us in a song or two or sometimes if he feels like a canary even three. To humor some of us older geezer codgers about every 20th song he will throw in something copywrited prior to 1997! Actually, we'd make a pretty good Praise Team.

We study. Phil provides a variety of study guides. We pass around the discussion leader role among 4-5 of us. It is lessens the burden on any individual and provides a wide perspective because of everyones varying backgrounds. Makes for an interesting session.

WE PRAY. This Group really believes in the positive power of fervant prayer. We pray for the church, its leaders, We pray for one another, we pray for our marriages, our children, our sick and discouraged. We pray for friends and loved ones. We pray for our children. We pray for forgiveness. We have seen some wonderful results from God answering our prayers.

We probably average about 14 in attendance during the fall/winter/spring months. That, according to the textbook, may be too large a group for maximum dynamics but it works for us.
