After kicking off the year with our I DO Vision, we have considered various ways in which we are to grow and mature as followers of Jesus. As April begins, we move into the realm of finances. There is no question that we are blessed. As Americans, as Texans, as Houstonians, we have access to countless opportunities and innumerable resources, and as disciples we have to ask the question, “Am I using my wealth in ways that give honor to God?” Our goal this month certainly isn’t to generate guilt over our many riches. Rather, our desire is to discover the blessing that comes from growing in generosity. Paul says, “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.” (2 Cor. 9:11) In another place Jesus simply says, “Render to God what is God’s.” (Matt. 22:21) There is freedom to be found when put our finances in their proper place, when we no longer feel bound to store up treasures on earth; but instead consider all the ways that we can use resources for his purposes. Over the next month, we want to imagine together the possibilities of a people who render to God.
The Word in 3D
In Jesus, we see God’s every word brought to life. He is the perfect embodiment of God’s love and desires for his people. In the same way, those who follow Jesus are called to not only hear his word but to put it into practice. In essence, through his disciples, Jesus continues to transform something that’s read into something that’s seen.

Easter Synergy
Who wants to do an Easter Egg Hunt in a yard when you can do one all over town? JH and HS students are invited to join a Katy-wide Easter Egg hunt to find ‘The Golden Eggs’. Teams will be assigned a driver, a vehicle, and will uncover clues to discover the secret location of the Golden Easter Eggs. The group that collects the most will get a sweet treat at the end of the event. You must sign up online for this event so that drivers and vehicles can be arranged.
Dads and Dudes Retreat
Please join us at the Eberly Ranch on Friday, April 20th and Saturday April 21st for the Dads and Dudes retreat. Our speaker this year will be James ‘Coach’ Morris and our devotional time will be led by Phil Pettey. There’s plenty to do at the ranch including fishing, trap / skeet shooting, cow pasture pool (golf, just a little different) tennis court, swimming pool, or just hanging out with your brothers. Space is limited in the lodge, but for those that want, there is plenty of room to set up a tent. Please sign up online by clicking the link below AND on the sign up sheet on the back table in the auditorium. Fees this year are just $45 per person to stay in the lodge, or $20 per person for tent camping. If you have any questions, please email Wade by clicking here.
Kinetic Words
When Jesus refuses to turn stones to bread, he teaches his followers something about trust. God can be trusted to provide for his people. Just as he gave manna to the Israelites in the desert, so he continues to deliver those who look to him. Therefore, disciples do indeed live by “that which proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Deut. 8:3; Matt. 4:4) His words are powerful; his words are meaningful. His words are filled with purpose and life.

Pandora Radio Expectations
As we read every word of the New Testament this month, we have to remain aware that some words are more important than others. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, without hesitation he answered, “To love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And the second is like it: love others as you love yourself.”

Cinco Kids EveryWord Reading Challenge

Through the month of March, Cinco Kids are challenged to read a Bible Story from the New Testament each day. Each Sunday during March, kids will receive their “EveryWord Weekly Booklet” during Bible Class. If you miss Sunday or lose your book, don’t worry, just use the schedule below to keep up. Books can also be found at our CK Parent’s Corner and the Kiosk in the Worship Center Lobby.
The “Cinco Kids EveryWord” booklet can be used for all ages. It shares one story from the section of reading scheduled for each day that our adults and teens are following. As a parent, you can sit down with your child once a day and read it together. If they are too young to sit through reading the whole story, use the picture provided in the booklet to share the story to them while they color it. If your child is old enough, encourage them to read it by themselves and then talk together about what they read. As you are challenged to grow with God, help your child do the same.

EveryWord Everywhere Photo Challenge
“The believers who were scattered went from place
to place, where they spread the word.”
During the month of March, the Cinco family is diving into the word by reading the entire New Testament in 30 days. With spring break going on we know members of our family will scatter far and wide taking the word with them. As a way to encourage one another and share in this experience together, we invite everyone to take the Everyword Everywhere Photo Challenge. The challenge is simple: submit a photo of yourself or family members reading God’s word.
Photos will be judged in 5 categories: Photo Taken the Farthest Away from the Church, Best Outdoor/Nature Photo, Photo in the Most Crowded/Populated Location, Funniest Photo, and Photo in the Most Remote/Secluded Location. One winner will be chosen from each category and awarded a prize. In addition, one photo will be chosen as the Best Overall. This winner will receive a personalized, monogrammed, leather bound Bible.
To enter the challenge, all you need to do is attach the photo in an email to Doug Robinson at doug@crcoc.org. We will also accept submissions of actual photo prints. You may make as many entries as you wish. Photo submissions are due by Wednesday, March 28. Continue to visit this page to view all contest photo entries.
